Meet Echo 🐶 — The Sweetest Girl
I went to Catoosa Animal Control yesterday to pull another dog.
While I was there, a woman walked in to surrender her 20 lb dog.
At the same time, officers were talking about how they are officially full. When that happens, owner surrenders don’t get time. It means euthanasia becomes imminent.
I don’t have room.
I didn’t plan for this.
But I couldn’t let her walk through that door.
So I went in for one and came out with two.
This little girl was hyper, anxious, shaking, scared, and vibrating with fear all at once. Not “bad behavior.” Not “too much energy.” Just a dog who knew she was about to be left somewhere she might never leave.
I intercepted her story before it ended.
Her name is Echo.
Because she’s the echo of a moment that almost happened.
A life that was nearly decided by “capacity.”
Rescue doesn’t happen when it’s convenient.
It happens when the clock is loud and you’re the last stop.
If you can foster, donate, share, or support Best Friends and Hens, this is what your help does. It buys time. It changes endings.
Two dogs are safe tonight.
That’s all that matters.
